Terms & Conditions

We are thrilled to have you as our guest! 

We strive to provide our guests with an exceptionally clean, safe, and enjoyable hotel experience.  The following Terms & Conditions have been established based on industry standards, management and operational procedures, and our personal experience of owning and operating Stay Lokal since 2017.  These Terms & Conditions are considered a part of our reservation agreement with you. As our hotel guest, by booking your stay with us you are agreeing to abide by all of our terms, conditions, and procedures.  

They are presented here to help promote our guests’ safety and enjoyment and to ensure that each guest is aware of the understandings between Stay Lokal and the guest. Our policies may change, so please check back often.

Booking Policies for Lokal Hotel Cape May

Reservations:

Reservations are held with a credit card at the time of booking. The remaining balance is charged 30 days prior to your arrival and becomes non-refundable. Credit cards will be authorized the day of check-in for incidentals. The authorization will hold the funds until the day of your departure, at which time the amount actually incurred during your stay will be charged. Authorized amounts may take 7 days to be released by your bank and the hotel will not be responsible for any resulting fees or charges. A credit card is the only accepted form of payment.

ID & CC Verification:

Reservations made directly and through third-party booking agents (Expedia, Booking.com, Orbitz) require that verification be sent at least 72 hours prior to arrival. This includes guests email, billing address, and a copy of the guests ID or driver’s license.

Cancellation Policy:

Stay Lokal  is not responsible for weather conditions, personal emergencies, or schedule changes. Cancellations are free to make up to 30 days prior to your arrival date. Cancellations made within 30 days of check-in will be fully charged. There are no refunds for shortened stays or early departures.

*Please note, due to the ongoing pandemic, cancellations can be made up to 14 days prior the arrival date.

Minimum Stay Requirements:

Reservations require a two-night minimum. If availability allows, a one night stay may be arranged directly with management.

Check-In Policy:

Lokal Hotel has no on-site concierge, personnel or night staff. Prior to your arrival you will be provided with a 4 digit access code for the front door and for your suite. We can be reached from 9 AM – 5 PM via phone and 9AM – 9PM via text at (267) 702-4345 or email: [email protected].

Check-in: Room rental period starts at 3:00 PM

Quiet Hours: 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM (Strictly Enforced – should guest violate this policy, a warning will be given. A second violation will result in immediate eviction from the hotel without refund).

Check-out: Room rental period expires at 11:00 AM

Early Arrivals and Late Departures:

Rooms may not be available until after the reserved hotel’s designated check-in time. Early check-in is extended complimentary based on availability. Early check-ins and late check-outs must be pre-arranged at least one week prior to arrival and are subject to availability.

If the guest checks out beyond 11 AM without prior approval, the guest will be subject to a $200 fee.

General Policies

Hotel Rights:

Should any action by a guest be deemed inappropriate by the hotel, or if any inappropriate behavior is brought to the attention of the hotel, Lokal reserves the right to request that the guest vacate their room without refund.

Pool Safety:

The pool area is heated and available to access 9 AM to 9 PM. The pool is open March through December (or as weather permits). There is no lifeguard. Guests swim at their own risk and the Hotel will not be responsible for any injuries while using the Hotel facilities.

Security Surveillance:
For guest safety and security, Lokal Hotel has 24/7 monitored audio and visual security surveillance in common areas.

Special Requests:

We will make every effort to honor special requests such as a specific floor, room location, extra towels, etc. prior to your arrival. All special requests are noted on reservations and we will do our best to accommodate. However, the availability of these items cannot be guaranteed in advance.

Beach Service:

Lokal chairs and umbrellas are free to use for current Lokal guests. Ask a Lokal attendant on Stockton Beach and they will be happy to help.

Accessibility:

Lokal Hotel Cape May is a 2 floor walkup, and offers two handicap accessible suites.

Luggage:

Guests are welcome to store their belongings in the lobby. Lokal is not liable for any missing or damaged items.

Occupancy:

Room occupancy requirements are based on fire code/fire safety restrictions. Maximum of 2 overnight guests, and 2 daytime visitors per 1-bedroom suite, and 5 overnight guests, and 5 daytime visitors per 2-bedroom suite.  An occupancy fee can be incurred if violated.

No Party Policy:

Lokal Hotel enforces a strict No Party Policy for the comfort and security of all hotel guests.  Excessive noise will not be tolerated at any time. Should guest violate this policy, a warning will be issued.  A second violation will result in immediate eviction from the hotel without refund.

Photography:

Professional photography and filming for personal use (such as weddings) are allowed. Commercial photography and filming are prohibited on property without prior approval from Lokal Hotel. Any unauthorized use of images of Lokal Hotel or its contents is strictly prohibited and will result in a fee of up to $1,000.

Parking:

Lokal provides onsite parking for hotel guests. Parking spaces are assigned by room. If you need ADA accommodations, please let hotel know prior to your arrival. 

Beach Tags:

Information on Cape May beach tags can be found here. Beach tags are available to purchase, in person, in the City Hall Tax Office on 643 Washington Street from 9AM – 4PM, Mon – Fri, excluding holidays.

Housekeeping Policy

Housekeeping:

We provide a full housekeeping service prior to check-in. A light cleaning service during guest stay can be provided at the guest’s request for $50 a day between 11 AM until 3 PM. 

100% Smoke-Free:

Lokal is a 100% smoke-free facility and does not permit smoking of any kind.. Any evidence of smoking in the guest’s room or complaints made from hotels guests will result in a fee of up to $1,000. This include

s smoking tobacco, marijuana, illegal drugs, e-cigarettes, vape pens, diffusers, hookahs, incense, cigars and candle burning.

Pets:

Lokal Hotel is a pet-free environment. A fee of up to $1,000 will be charged if violated. Only certified service animals are allowed with proper notification and documentation. 

Furniture and Room Furnishings:

All furniture, furnishings and kitchenware must be returned to it’s original placement prior to checking out.  Violations will result in an additional fee.

Damage, Missing Items & Excessive Cleaning:

Upon booking we require a credit card on hold for any damages and excessive cleanings beyond normal use of our amenities incurred during the guest’s stay. The guest authorizes Lokal to charge the cost of repair of such damage or loss of such items caused by themselves, or any person for whom they are responsible. Such damage would include the cost of cleaning bedding and upholstery, and fumigation if the guest smokes in a room, and/or damage to furniture, rugs, walls and fixtures as well as replacing missing items such as bedding, towels, furnishings, kitchenware, etc.
